What is flame retardant clothing?

Flame retardant clothing, usually abbreviated as FR clothing, refers to any clothing designed and specially manufactured to protect the wearer from potential intermittent flames and heat exposure. These garments are not easily ignited, and if they do catch fire, their design will cause them to self-extinguish. If you come into contact with brief, intermittent flames while wearing this clothing and your clothes catch fire, the material will naturally extinguish the flames. This ability significantly reduces the risk of the wearer being burned and typically provides valuable time to escape an unsafe environment.

Practical and comfortable work shirt

This flame retardant work shirt is made from cotton/nylon twill lightweight fabric with unique flame retardant properties and loose cut for added comfort. It is suitable for industries such as electrical facilities, refineries, industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, petrochemicals, and more. The flame retardant properties can effectively prevent or slow down the transfer of heat energy to the wearer’s skin, minimizing burns and providing primary flame and heat protection.

The collar has hidden buttons to secure it in place, and the shirt features pearl buttons and back pleats for greater freedom of movement. There are two chest pockets with flaps and buttons. The design takes into account the best in safety, performance, style, and value.

This flame retardant work shirt complies with ASTM F1506 arc flash and NFPA 2112 flash fire standards. The minimum arc rating (ATPV) is 8.6 Cal/cm2, and the garment meets NFPA 2112/HRC 2 standards and is UL certified. The fabric has been treated with a silk finish to provide minimal shrinkage, maximum comfort, and optimal safety and durability.

Note: Flame retardant cotton fabric must be properly cared for to extend its life and minimize shrinkage. Follow the correct washing and care instructions.
